Bill Ward is a very good family friend. He was a very good friend to both my mom and dad. Bill was also a fan of my mom's cooking. I remember when we moved into our new house, his housewarming gift was a grill! He and Pat were over a lot for dinners. When my dad was sick he would always visit and kept him company. My dad always looked forward to seeing Bill and it was great to have him there for any help my mom or I needed. He never thought twice. Bill gave one of the eulogy's at my dad's funeral and was the most colorful person there - literally (he wore one of my dad's bright ties) and my dad would not have wanted it any other way. The Ward's were an extended part of our family. Before I moved to California, my roommate decided to move home and I needed a place to live for a little. So the summer before I moved, I lived with the Wards. Bill and Pat were kind enough to open their home to me, a home that I always loved going to when I was younger! I have so many memories with the Wards besides that summer. I miss seeing the Wards and Bill's sense of humor. Bill was always my go to guy when it came to good beer as well! I look forward to sharing a beer with him the next time I see him!
