#42 Missy M

Missy was a co-worker at Iron Hill Wilmington and an good friend. She was a lot of fun and always made me laugh. She dated a guy named Brian and I didn't think it was possible for others to love their dogs like our family did. However Missy and Brian proved me wrong. Missy was working at IH and finishing up school to be a teacher. I have seen Missy once since I moved when I was visiting the Frampton/Stiglitz clan at the beach. I have lost touch with Missy since the move but I have some great pictures and memories of her! I have heard though that her and Brian got married and I wish them all the happiness!!!

#41 Nikolaus S

Oh where to begin. Nik has been my friend...forever. I love the guy, he is truly a great friend. I have some great stories and memories with Nik. He worked at Iron Hill Newark back when he was at UD (who would have thought that I would be working at the Wilmington location years later). He also served me my first drink there, underage I might add! Around that same time, some kid at Nik's old school (high school) was starting some rumors about me. It was Nik who went to pay him a visit. Needless to say the guy never said another word. After college Nik went on a trip cross country with Dave Salley and ended up in California years before I would. It was a few years before I saw him again when he came back to Delaware for a long visit. When I moved to Cali, Nik was one of the only people I knew here besides my sister but he lived up in Mammoth. I went to visit him in Mammoth and had tons of fun! We have had some great trips since then. Its always an adventure with Nik. From the Beer Festival in Mammoth to wine tasting in Temecula, there are always fun stories and great pictures! We have supported the Eagles in San Fran and recruited some new Eagle Fans. More recently Nik surprised me in Vegas for my birthday this year. It was a great surprise, I got to spend my birthday weekend with some of my favorite people. Nik is about to go on another adventure in Europe, but I am looking forward to hearing all about it because I am sure there are going to be some great stories!

#36 Dad

My Dad. He was quite the man. I got a lot of things from my dad - my blue eyes, my Irish skin tone and definitely my sense of humor. He definitely did not give me his height! And I am pretty sure I got my loudness from him! He use to say he could hear me above all the other children in the neighborhood. He had a lot of accomplishments in his life and he was very creative. He took me with him to work at AB&C (he was the "A") often. It was his advertising agency. I loved being in that office, I can remember sitting in his big chair playing office or in the drawing room. It was like "take your kids" to work day, but all the time! He worked so I could play! I remember him letting me "drive" (I would steer) his cars when we got in our neighborhood...especially his old corvette. I always knew I could get more from my dad than my mom and there were many times I used this to my advantage. Above all was a fighter. Ever since I was young, I always remember him being around doctors. First it was his kidney transplant and then cancer. When I was a child he and my mom never made me feel uncomfortable about things that were going. He let me take a replica of the "band" they were putting in his arm, because the dialysis had damage his veins, to show and tell. Yes I took medical items to show and tell...he got a kick out of that! There were many times the doctor told us that he would not make and he did. He was on hospice twice. The second time around, they said it would be 3 months, - it was 2 years after. He did things his on way during his battle with cancer and the doctors were all amazed, some just couldn't understand it and called him a medical mystery! His death was no different. It was tough to watch him during those last few months, but it sure did make me get over my fear of needles (and for anyone who knows me - that is HUGE). He passed away peacefully while I was visiting my sister in California. He had organized his own services, everything from the obituary to the service. People would say after it was one of the best services they had been to, while there were tears there was a lot more laughter. Leave it to my dad to for that! He always encourage me to do what made me happy so I hope that he is proud of me. Miss and love you, Dad.

#40 Babe Johns

Babe Johns is a very old family friend. Him and his wife Sylvia got married in our Brandywine Hills home. Babe was an AMAZING skier, he taught my sister and I both how to ski. Babe was also an avid photographer. We had dinner often with Babe and Sylvia. He made the BEST stuffed shells, it makes my mouth water even thinking about it. When I was little they had a little Yorkie that I just loved. He would always bring her over!!! They also became Mollie's dog sitter when we would go away, Mollie loved when they would come over. She certainly knows how to win over people and they were no exception! Babe and Sylvia were like family, sadly Sylvia passed away in 2001. When I moved to Trolley Square Babe became my neighbor, he lived about 2 blocks away. Mollie and I would take frequent walks down to Babe's house to say hi and visit. Next time I am back east I look forward to visiting with him!

#39 Matt M

Matt was a Dewey of 03 buddy! He worked with me at Northbeach! That was a great summer with some great friends and co-workers. My mom met Matt and just thought he was adorable so then she proceeded to tell him "Cameron stories." Matt was not the person to tell such stories to, to this day his still calls me the "little urchin" and so kindly name one after me. After the summer, and me breaking his visor, he moved back north and began working at Scratch Magoos! The Iron Hill crew spent a lot of time at Scratch's after work. My friend Jamie and I went there usually after our Sunday expo shift! Jamie met Matt and well the rest is history. There is a lot of "history" at Scratch's, isnt there guys!?! haha. Jamie and Matt live down at the beach now with their beagle!!! I make it a point to see them when I am in Delaware, they are great friends and I miss seeing them often!

#38 Paul D

Paul Dailey was a friend of mine from back in Delaware. Paul and I had known each other for a while when we were younger and then lost touch. He began working at Iron Hill in Wilmington and it was great to hang out with him again. He is a great guy and his smile could light up a room not to mention he has a great personality. During the time we both worked at Iron Hill we spent a lot of we hung out a good amount of the time, it was always fun hanging out with LPD! Paul was a great friend. One night after work, it had to have been a Sunday because we were all heading to Dead Presidents, some idiot ran into the drivers side of my car. I was a little shaken up and called Paul. He met me at the accident scene brought me a hat and sweatshirt because it was raining. He stayed with me the entire time, it happened in a not so great part of Wilmington! Paul also kept me company on the Christmas eve after my mom moved back to Alabama. My sister and Matt weren't flying back to the east coast until Christmas day so me, Paul, Neil Campbell and a couple other people headed out for a night in Wilmington (once again at Dead Presidents). We had a blast and it is still one of the best Christmas eve's I have had! Sadly I have lost touch with Paul again, but I hear he is back in NC and engaged. I wish him nothing but the best and hope to see him again sometime!

# 37 Dani G

Dani was the exchange student for our senior year. She lived with my friend Kelly Anne and quickly became friends with our little group. Dani fit right in. She moved back to Brazil after graduation and I saw her once after that but have recently caught back up with her via myspace. It was good to catch up with her, she seems to be really happy and doing well. When I think back on my senior year of high school, Dani was a big part of it and they are found memories.

#35 Laura K

Laura is the reason I started this blog. She is the originally 365 people to 30 blog. Laura is one of my oldest friends. We ice skated together for a good amount of childhood and teenage years. We spent a lot of time together and eventually we both left skating behind. However, skating was just the base of our friendship. As we got older we went friend doing jumps and spins to "cruising the pike" and baseball games! Laura is one of those friends that has been around for a lot of firsts. First athletic achievements, first dances, first loves, first heart aches, etc. We have great memories...the kneenotes, skating trips, senior week, her wedding.... Laura lives back on the east coast with her husband Ken. They are expecting their first child in the upcoming weeks. I have no doubt that Laura will be a fantastic mother and I can't wait to meet her son and eventually share some stories with him about his mother!!! Its been a couple years when I last saw Laura but whenever I do see her, she is one of those friends that time doesn't matter - which is a sign of a great friendship!

# 34 Matty Day

Matt was my friend Sarah's high school boyfriend. He played baseball at Salesianum and then at York for college. Matt is one of the nicest guys and my aunt Joyce just loves him! Not only was Matt a great baseball player but he was quite the dancer too....he was always a good dancing partner! Sarah and I made some great road trips up to York to visit Matt in school. I saw Matt shortly before I left Delaware at Iron Hill. He hasn't changed a bit.

#33 Ken DiPrima

I have known Mr. DiPrima since I was a baby! The DiPrima's lived down the street from us in Brandywine Hills. His daughter Trishie was my best friend! To say that the DiPrima's are family friends is an understatement - they are much more like family. I have so many memories with the DiPrima's. I always remember Ken cooking and he always made gingerbread houses at Christmas time. They were the BEST and I always looked forward to seeing what he created! I was so sad when they moved, first out of the neighborhood then to New Jersey and then back to Chicago. But I always loved going to visit them. Ken, Patricia and their daughters are some of the nicest people you will meet and those that have know them are lucky. Ken gave one of the eulogy's at my dad's funeral and it was an honor to have him do so. My dad and Ken were great friends. Ken and Patricia came out to California for my sister's wedding and it was fantastic to have them here! I look forward to seeing them again and hopefully soon! I do miss them and love them dearly!

#32 Dave S

I grew up with David. He was like an older brother. I always loved hanging out with the Salley kids - Dave, Danielle and Dev whether on family vacations or down in Slidell, La. We took trips to Pensacola and Duck (the picture to the left is from one of the sumemrs in Duck) during the summers and they are some of the best memories. I have lots of Salley kid stories. Dave went to Richmond for school so he made frequent trips to Delaware and always stopped in for visits. One night when I was in high school he made one of his surprise trips. We hid a key to our back door in one of those fake rocks - he knew this! I could hear someone rattling around outside and it was pretty late. I slowly made my way downstairs terrified at what I was going to find and there was Dave! That weekend was a dance at Ursuline so we were having dinner at my house, Dave played waiter and the girls fell in love with him! The girls spent the night after the dance and he made chocolate chip pancakes!
Years later Dave went traveling after he finished college and ended up in San Francisco at some point. He ended up working at my sisters gym. I called one day to talk to her, he answered...I had no idea he was in San Fran let alone working with her. I asked to speak with her and when he asked who was calling I said "her sister" his response was "No I am sorry you can't talk to her" and then he hung up! This went on a couple more times until him and Shannon were cracking up. He was always up for fun and is always fun to be around.
David moved back to Richmond and went on to become an ENT doctor. He married Kelsey, their wedding was a blast, and they have an adorable daughter named Klara. I am looking forward to my next trip to the east coast and catching up with Dave!

#31 Tommy H

Tommy was a good family friend. We spent a lot of time with the Haugh's. I always remember that Tommy has one of the best laughs, its contagious! When my mom sent me some things from storage there was an old calendar in the box and at least once a week the Haugh's were on the calendar for dinner! Tommy was Jason, Jeni and Brooke's dad. He was always the entertainer any time we all got together. He is just a great guy! Tommy and Becky moved to Texas a few years ago and seem to be doing really well. I would love to see them sometime soon....I miss Tommy and Becky!

#30 Patrick Rafter

Patrick Rafter was one of the best looking men on the tennis tour. I was lucky enough to meet him at the US Open when I stayed with the Jensen's. Once again I was on one of the outside courts, him and Mark Philippoussis were playing a doubles match. No one else was really around because one of the big names was playing on center court. I got to meet both of them and both were very nice. A few years later Patrick was on a practice court at the Open with Pat Cash and I was over at the practice courts watching them hit. They both came over to talk to me when they were done and asked why I wasn't at one of the main courts. We chatted for a bit - Pat Cash gave me one of his signature head bands and Pat Rafter gave me one of his wrist bands. My mom and her friends had been watching the match at center court when I went to tell them about my run in with the Pats....they were a tad bit jealous - you would have thought by then they would have known to stick with me at the Open!

#29 Nancy K

Another skating memory. Like I have said we were all lucky enough to meet a lot of skaters and other athletes. Nancy Kerrigan was one of them. Laura and I had the same encounter with her and unfortunately it stuck with me forever. We were at one of the skating shows and got to meet the skaters afterwards. We were at the Spectrum in Philly and a little girl had given her a stuffed animal and in an ear shot of us she said something along the lines how she didn't need another stuffed animal. It wasn't too long after that when the "why meeeee" incident happened and then the Olympic gold slipped away. Not that you ever want to see someone get hurt...but karma works in mysterious ways. While she was a great skater and was beautiful on the ice, her nasty attitude stuck with me more.

#28 Debbie Healy

Debbie is a very good family friend, TJs wife and my friend Jen's mom. When I lived in Delaware we saw the Healy's all the time. They are truly like family. Many Thanksgivings were spent with the Healy's and Wards at TJ and Debbie's home. I still remember meeting Debbie when she and TJ began dating, and super excited because her daughter was my age! Debbie is always so welcoming, she makes a home feel warm and loving. There were a hand full of great family friends that at a drop of a hat were there for my mom and I when my dad was sick, Debbie was one of those great people! Debbie recently joined Facebook so it has been lots of fun staying in touch with her! I miss seeing Debbie and I look forward to seeing her on my next trip to Delaware! I stole this picture from Jen!

#27 Nathalie V

Nathalie was on the tennis team with me at Virginia Wesleyan. Everyone on the team was really nice and had great sportsmanship. For a sports team, especially a girls team, that is hard to find. She was a great leader for our team, our coach that first season was - well - a little off. I have some great memories of our tennis team and our road trips. I recently got back in touch with Nathalie through Facebook so it has been fun to catch up with her. And what a small world, Nathalie happened to be a former co-worker of my friend Colleen who now lives in So Cal! Nathalie still looks the same and is still one of the nicest people I have known!

# 25 Justin

Justin was my first crush at Virginia Wesleyan. He live downstairs from me in my dorm. We spent a lot of time together, Wesleyan was small and so were the dorm buildings, so he was one of the first people I met when I moved in. I remember him being a really nice guy and adorable, he was easy to have a crush on. As some relationships go, it fizzled away. I haven't seen Justin in so many years and we lost touch after VWC.

#24 Kristen N

The Nye's are very good family friends. Kristin is Kathy and Don's Daughter and Mike's sister. We always took family vacations together to Duck, NC and Pensacola, FL with the Nye's. Poor Kristen always had to "put up" with me and Michael during dinner parties. I can only imagine how "good" we were for her! Its been a while since I have seen Kristen. She is a mother of two adorable children and I get updates on her from mom, Kathy, and Facebook. Kristen hasn't changed a bit. The picture is from a trip to NC for Sarah's wedding - she is in the black dress. Another great trip with great family friends. Next time I am on the east coast - I hope to see Kristen!

#23 Linda L

Linda is Nora's mom (see #21) and like I said in Nora's post - she for all purposes - is my Aunt Linda. Many years were spent down in Dewey Beach and with the Lavelle's. Linda and Jim owned the Bottle and Cork, and all the parents spent a good amount of time there! There was one summer Linda injured her foot and was not suppose to be on it at all. If anyone knows Linda, that it was going to be almost impossible to keep her from doing things. I ended up staying with them for part of that summer and helping her out. She was always very sneaky...I would come back from an errand and she was be up and about cleaning the kitchen! Oh and I would catch her too! Great times were spent with the Lavelles, whether it was on vacations, in Dewey or Point to Point. She is always very spunky - so if you go to the Bottle and Cork on a Monday night for the Grease Band - you will see Linda at the door!

#22 Xavier Malisse

I use to go to the US Open every year when I lived on the east coast. You could always around the grounds and going to the side courts for matches. I got to meet a lot of the players this way as well. Nothing could have prepared me for meeting Xavier Malisse. I was watching his match and sitting next to this woman who was cheering him on as well. We got to talking and she asked if I was a fan. Of course I said yes. We chatted throughout the match, I told her I enjoyed watching him play and how good-looking I thought he was too! After the match was over, we were sitting right behind the players he came over to sign some autographs she said something and he turned to me to say thank you. I must have looked confused, he explained to me that his mother had told him that I was a big fan of his tennis and that I thought he was good looking as well! I almost died! I know how red I was because when I saw some people from my group they what was going on! I got an autograph and hug but I really great story as well. Still one of my favorite US Open memories!

#21 Nora L

Nora Lavelle for all purposes is my cousin. I grew up not knowing any differently. The Lavelle's have always been family. Her father is my god-father and I have always known them as Uncle Jim and Aunt Linda! Nora is their youngest daughter. Nora grew up at the beach in Delaware and we spent a lot of time going down to the beaches and with the Lavelle's. I still remember Nora getting ready and going to prom. I LOVED her dress and definitely wanted one just like it when I went to my prom. Well needless to say the styles changed and I don't think it would have worked for my prom! I still remember Nora's wedding too, I was too young to enjoy it like the older kids did but it was still fun for me and I was so excited to be part of it!
Nora is always so much fun! She was my partner in crime for many years at Point to Point. She taught me Point to Point never really start without a mimosa! One year somehow we got ourselves some of the tent tickets and we bounced from tent to tent, drinking champagne (keep in mind I was in high school) and it was soooo much fun. I still have a picture somewhere of us from that year (its to the left)! Nora is a now (well has been for a while) a mom and I got to spend a good amount of time with her and the kids before I moved. I always knew Nora would make a good mom, but I was wrong - she has made a great one!

#20 Brian Boitano

Everyone knows who Brian Boitano is in the skating world and even outside of it. Figure skating was such a large part of my life for so many years. Before school, after school, weekends...
I met some great people because of it and famous too! Brian Boitano was one of those. He is an amazing performer. I believe I met him during one of the trips to the Spectrum for an ice show that somehow we managed to get backstage after the show was done. I remember being very shy around him (hard to believe - but yes I was), I mean come on the man won an Olympic gold medal - pretty amazing. I do remember what he told me though, he said always work hard but above all have fun! I couldnt have been more than 10 years old so that advice didn't really sink in until I was older and decided skating just was not fun anymore for me. I then decided that I needed to focus on other things. My sister ran into Brian when she lived in San Francisco and she told him about me, not like he remembers every single person he has ever met. But he did signed a picture for me wishing me luck in college! Some athletes (and I have met my fair share) are not the most gracious when it comes to fans, but Brian Boitano does not fall into that category - he is one of the best!

#19 Paul S

Paul was a co-worker of mine at Joes Crab Shack. Yes I worked there for a short time before moving to Dewey in the summer of 2003 and yes we had to do the dances and YES it was annoying! I did meet some great people and Paul was one of them. He quickly became a good friend. Paul was pretty easy on the eyes and all the everyone loved him due to his great personality. Paul always made me laugh and we got in some trouble-always the good kind, well at least to us it was the good kind!!!! He enforced the term "pickles" to me! Paul started dating Mike just when that summer started and he made MANY trips down to Dewey that summer with Mike! That was one of the best summers I have ever had -there were some great memories and Paul was part of many. I haven't seen Paul since I moved to California, but I do keep up with him on Facebook. Paul and Mike are living in Wilmington and Paul just celebrated his 30th birthday. I hope next time I am in Delaware I can meet up with them for a drink and to catch up with and old friend!

#18 Annette

Annette is my cousin on my mom's side of the family. I am lucky enough to have a great family and to have Annette be part of it. I have great memories with Annette. I get to see Annette usually twice a year, once at the cottage during the summer and the other time at Christmas. I remember being little and taking Annette's chair and riding all around the cottage! Annette is probably the best at staying in touch with everyone. I always enjoy getting emails from her and hearing what is going on with her. She is always keeping busy! She is always the first one I get cards from as well for the holidays, which always puts a smile on my face. Annette always has her camera handy too, if it wasn't for Annette I wouldn't have some of the picture I do! Annette has the biggest heart out of anyone I know. I am looking forward to seeing Annette this summer, as I am sure like usual it will be a great time filled with lots of family, fun and laughter!

#17 Matthew M

Oh Matthew! Matthew is on of my co-workers at Bayside. Matthew is also a good friend. He was one of the first people I met when I started working at Bayside. There is a lot I could say about him - he's a great guy, friend and father. Matt has a lot of great qualities, but his biggest downfall is liking the Daulphins! I give him a hard time about it - all the time! I always enjoy making bets with Matthew when it comes to sporting events, mostly because every time I win - you would think he would learn by now not to bet with a Philly fan, but he hasn't. I am still trying to make him realize that being an Eagles fan would be much better for him! I am always giving him a hard time, but he gives it right back. He is probably one of the only people that can catch me off guard and I have nothing to say back, it drives me insane. For instant I cut my finger with a knife right before my christmas party that required me getting stiches - Matthew brought me plastic knives. One year for his birthday I gave him an Eagles hat (notice the picture), he wore it once and it has never been seen again (he lost a bet and had to wear the hat out for drinks with me). Now that there is another baseball season is starting so I am sure Angel games will be right around the corner, but I will get Matthew to a Phillies game this year! I am lucky to have a friend and co-worker like Matthew, my days are never dull when he is there!

#16 Sarah S

Sarah was a friend from high school. She went to Padua, one of our rival high schools. As high school friendships go, we just went in different directions. Sarah always had a great personality and lots of energy. She always had a smile on her face and you could always count on her to cheer you up. I do remember that Sarah's dad was the DJ at all of our high school dances. Like I said I lost touch with Sarah a long time ago, but yet again with Facebook recently touched base with her and it doesn't seem like much as changed about her!

April 1, 2009

#15 Jen G

Jen was a friend from high school. I became friends with Jen through my friend Laura, they went to Friends together. She also happen to date my friend John. We all spent a lot of time hanging out, talking about boys and just being teenage girls - and then there was the senior week trip. I haven't seen Jen in years, but recently became Facebook friends with her. She is getting married soon and I wish her all the happiness!

#14 Bill Ward

Bill Ward is a very good family friend. He was a very good friend to both my mom and dad. Bill was also a fan of my mom's cooking. I remember when we moved into our new house, his housewarming gift was a grill! He and Pat were over a lot for dinners. When my dad was sick he would always visit and kept him company. My dad always looked forward to seeing Bill and it was great to have him there for any help my mom or I needed. He never thought twice. Bill gave one of the eulogy's at my dad's funeral and was the most colorful person there - literally (he wore one of my dad's bright ties) and my dad would not have wanted it any other way. The Ward's were an extended part of our family. Before I moved to California, my roommate decided to move home and I needed a place to live for a little. So the summer before I moved, I lived with the Wards. Bill and Pat were kind enough to open their home to me, a home that I always loved going to when I was younger! I have so many memories with the Wards besides that summer. I miss seeing the Wards and Bill's sense of humor. Bill was always my go to guy when it came to good beer as well! I look forward to sharing a beer with him the next time I see him!
